Electronics projects: Image retrieval using segmentation is the original algorithm to retrieve image. The overall idea of the new algorithm is that the regular segments of the images are used in get back the images. ELECTRONICS PROJECT ABSTRACT:
Typically, to retrieve an image using segmentation, the given image has to be segmented initially into components and these are later extracted for the retrieval process. The traits of each dominant component of the image are used to estimate the distance between the components. Component wise distance measured, each of the segments are ranked to ease the process.
In segment based retrieval process, a given image is segmented into regions and is recovered based on a set of objects in the image. With a segmentation algorithm, the features such as shape, color and texture of the component are extracted and stored for future use.
Of these features, texture is highly important as it describes the smoothness and regularity of the image. In the retrieval process, initially a query image is segmented and its components are highlighted. Once this is found, the corresponding features of the other components are also stored in the database. The steps used in segmentation can improve the retrieval process by decreasing the search.
